A 12-month fixed-term contract for external applicants and/or secondment opportunity for Ealing Council employees.

17.5 hours per week

Adopt London West (ALW) Regional Adoption Agency is a partnership service comprising of the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow and hosted by the London Borough of Ealing. ALW is committed to promoting best practice across its adoption and special guardianship support services to children and their families, birth parents and adopted adults. The support service in ALW is passionate about providing timely and bespoke support to our growing body of adopters and special guardians. The support service is also responsible for advice to birth parents, facilitation of any contact arrangements and access to adoption records.

An exciting part-time (17.5hrs/week) work opportunity has arisen for an additional Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Worker to join Adopt London West on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have an interest in and/or experience of adoption and special guardianship support and the potential complex dynamics of these arrangements as well as an understanding of the impact of loss and trauma
  • Be committed to innovative practice and assuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families
  • Have a NVQ level qualification (or equivalent) in a child-centered discipline or equivalent experience.

The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken and written English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
