THE ROLE
Within this busy role you will be planning and trading category areas with the support of a Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser. You will be responsible for running key reports, planning allocations and managing category level stocks.
Working within the retail division of the business as part of a strong team consisting of allocators, assistant merchandisers and a senior merchandising team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting directly into a Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser
- In season trading under the direction of a Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser.
- Responsibility of planning and trading a number of categories.
- Maintenance & management of WSSI’S for own categories, reviewing and managing the following parameters; sales, spend & OTB, intake, carry over, stock movements, Markdown, drop stock & forward cover.
- Identifying commercial repeats in season.
- Presenting at weekly Monday trade meetings
- Managing allocation & launch planning. Liaising with retail, ecommerce & VM teams alongside the warehouse and ensuring that stock is in the right place in order to reach sales plan.
- Taking an active role in the Markdown process, liaising with the wider business ensuring key dates are met.
- Development and management of the allocation team.
- Schedule and manage department current and end of season analysis; colour, price point, attribute & ROS
- Supporting wider merchandising team with in-season analysis to ensure sales are optimized across channels.

Product sign off
- Agreeing a balanced range to sign off with senior management. Ensuring all stores in each grading have a strong commercial offer. This will be backed up with strong analysis of previous season sales and option optimization.
Quantities
- Managing spend effectively, planning quantities, width vs depth of buy, ranging and planned FP sell through. Ensuring that topline KPIs are followed across departments.
Re-forecasting and OTB Management
- Every 4 weeks, agreeing Top line numbers with Merchandisers which the team will work to, re-forecasting categories, managing any risk, and potentialising over-performing areas of the business.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
- Experience- Currently working at a Senior allocator level or above
- Excel – Intermediate Level
- AX- no experience required- training as and when required
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to prioritise efficiently and work to deadlines
