You’ll balance the use of hands-on engineering expertise and working collaboratively with the wider engineering community including Business Analysts, Quality Engineers and Proposition Development.

SALARY: £66,861 - £78,000
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

What you’ll need

Extensive experience within a modern software engineering team analysing, designing and building solutions using a spread of IBM zSeries technologies

A particular focus on IBM IMS, COBOL, JCL and DB2 technologies. Knowledge of CA Technologies Endevor is highly desirable

This should include experience of investigating existing complex mainframe solutions built by other teams and/or 3rd party suppliers

A good understanding of Annuities and wider Life and Pension products is highly desirable.

An improvement driven approach to software engineering with a passion for enhancing the way we deliver software at the same time as software delivery itself.

A good understanding of quality software engineering and structuring applications to support testing.

Experience working within an agile working environment and Scrum or Kanban.
