Are you interested in leading a team in financial crime prevention? Our Financial Crime Customer Operations team is at the heart of how we protect Monzo and our customers from financial crime like fraud and money laundering.
In our Business Banking Financial Crime team, we protect Monzo and our customers throughout the lifecycle of our business customers. We conduct due diligence on our customers during onboarding and during their life with us. We conduct investigations, produce reports on unusual or suspicious activity and exit accounts where suspicious activity is identified.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analysing and understanding performance, and fostering a positive, supportive and high-performance culture
- Utilising a variety of coaching techniques to improve individual performances
- Taking proactive action to manage and support their team's wellbeing and absence levels
- Effectively communicate essential information and process changes
- Accurately and meticulously maintaining necessary documentation
- Contributing to a strong control environment
- Attending training sessions and staying up to date with internal and external Financial Crime updates/developments
- Extensive experience in leading a team with a high performing culture, ideally within a banking, financial services, or regulated contact centre environment
- Experience leading within a high change environment with competing priorities
- Experience in coaching and developing members of your team
- Experience in understanding and tackling the challenges in managing a team remotely
- Experience managing employee relations cases through to disciplinaries
- Experience in a Financial Crime or a Business Banking setting is desirable but not essential
- Working towards a qualification in financial crime, business banking or leadership or would be prepared to work towards an industry recognised qualification
- You are able to become fluent with MacOS, Slack, and GSuite tools
- Excellent English written & verbal communication skills
An initial call with a member of the hiring team Followed by a 2 part Leadership and Technical interview
For transparency on how the salary would be determined the following is intended to give a broad guide if successful.
- If you have some Leadership and FinCrime experience, expect an offer at or towards the bottom of the range
- If you have extensive Leadership experience and some FinCrime experience, expect an offer around the middle of the range
- If you have extensive FinCrime experience and some Leadership experience, expect an offer around the middle of the range
- If you have extensive Leadership experience and extensive FinCrime experience, expect an offer towards the top of the range
This role is fully remote / requires full-time home working. This is a full time position working 37.5hrs a week, 9am - 5:30pm. Occasional weekend work will be required (usually a few weekends throughout the year)
