The Ayr Clinic is made up of a well-established 36 bedded low secure hospital and 2 specialised step-down facilities for men and women with mental illness and/or personality disorder. The Ayr Clinic is situated in the coastal town of Ayr in West Central Scotland. The step down services are also situated in locations around Ayrshire.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team and gain experience working within secure services. You must be a Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration and be able to demonstrate excellent team working and leadership skills with the ability to work using own initiative.
The post holder should have expereicne in supervising staff and leading a team, taking into account their development needs. This would include the supervision of junior occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants who are part of the wider therapy team.
It is essential that you have effective listening, communication, interpersonal and time management skills along with the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will manage own their specialist caseload, under supervision of their line manager, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.
