Job Description

We are seeking a senior colleague to join us to lead our Student Wellbeing Services and shape the University’s approach to enhancing student wellbeing, accessibility & inclusion, mental health and safeguarding.

This is a pivotal role at the University of Reading and comes at a time when we are actively working towards gaining the University Mental Health Charter. It is an opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the University’s approach to student wellbeing and inclusion and to evolve our service delivery.

At the University of Reading we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and caring environment for our students and we are looking for someone who will help us maintain this focus while taking a strategic approach to the sector-wide challenge of managing increasing demand and expectations

The role provides leadership to four teams (Student Welfare, Residential Support, Counselling & Wellbeing and Disability Advisory) .You will need to be persuasive and diplomatic with the ability to empower and motivate. You will have an appreciation of the complexities of higher education but above all we are looking for someone to join our team with the drive and ambition to make a positive difference. We are seeking someone with a Clinical Counselling Supervision Qualification or the basis to gain this within a short period.
