The Faculty of Engineering & Design is seeking to recruit three new Lecturers to contribute to research and teaching in the exciting field of hydrogen-related energy systems.
Hydrogen and its carriers (such as ammonia) are priority areas in the government’s energy strategies for Net Zero 2050. Hydrogen research is critical to decarbonisation and sustainability, and forms part of one of the University’s key research themes. Our focus on Energy and Sustainability is strong, with a newly launched Institute for Sustainability, and a new Centre in Sustainable Energy Systems. Hydrogen research is also focused within the Bath Beacon on Future Fuels: Hydrogen and its Carriers and contributes to the Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems. The need for hydrogen and its carriers in our future energy mix for energy storage (mobility, heat and power) and sustainable chemicals is critical, and we seek to expand our expertise with these new lectureships.
You will work within one of the Faculty’s four departments, dependent on your particular area of scholarship, and associated with our new Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems. With a relevant background in engineering and/or science, you will demonstrate the potential to develop a strong education and research profile in hydrogen energy systems, which may include new materials and processes. You will be joining an impactful Faculty, filled with ambition to make the world a better place.
There are three permanent, full time lecturer roles available.
For more information or an informal discussion please contact Professor Tim Mays cestjm@bath.ac.uk or Professor Marcelle McManus on mm291@bath.ac.uk.
The Faculty of Engineering and Design at the University of Bath hosts four departments: Architecture & Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
