Therefore, please make sure you complete and submit your application at an early stage** An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Worker to join the acute Occupational Therapy service at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. Working with adults in our fast-paced inpatient setting you will work closely with our occupational therapists to deliver 1:1 and group interventions tailored to individual needs, aimed at maximising functional skills and independence, promoting recovery and wellbeing, and supporting hospital discharge.

You will develop close links with ward multidisciplinary teams to deliver a service which is dynamic, responsive, and patient-centred. We work closely with our team colleagues using a trauma-informed and recovery focused approach to support people to manage their difficulties and achieve their potential. You will use a wide range of therapeutic interventions including activities of daily living, food preparation, skills for community living, and creative activities.

As the successful applicant you will have relevant qualifications and experience of working in a health and social care setting, possess excellent communication skills and a person-centred, flexible approach. You will be an enthusiastic team player who thrives on working closely with others as well as being able to use your own initiative.

You will be based at the new purpose-built Royal Edinburgh building, working in a supportive Occupational Therapy team. You will receive regular clinical and professional supervision and will be supported to take up a range of training and development opportunities. A passion for quality improvement and innovative practise is welcomed and is actively supported through our in-house quality improvement team.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
