Russell Taylor has an exciting new opportunity for a bioassay scientist to work for a rapidly growing biotech company. Our client is involved with drug development programme’s assisting the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
The Role
· Making valuable contributions to the delivery of services within the lab and ensuring the appropriate procedures are always followed.
· Developing and performing cell-based bioassays.
· Preparing and presenting reports to both internal and external members of the organisation
· Developing the technical capabilities and expertise of the department as a whole
· Participating in routine laboratory operation and maintenance
· Assisting the scientific department with securing the relevant accreditations by composing SOP’s and COSHH regulations
The Person
· The ideal person will have a PhD in a life science/cell biology related discipline.
· A successful candidate will have previous experience with cell based functional assays or biochemical assays. (Phenotypic assays, proliferation assays, ELISA, fluorescence techniques, western blotting, alphaLISA, SDS-PAGE, cell line generation. etc)
· Must have a proven track record of developing assay systems.
· Must have previous experience of mammalian cell culture.
· The ideal candidate will have previous experience of using excel and GraphPad to analyse scientific data.
· Will be self-disciplined with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
· Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to clients.
· Must be comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per year
