Job Description
An exciting opportunity for the position of Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor (TI, Band 4) has arisen at Edward House, a Low Secure Unit. Edward house is a 20-bedded male unit that is part of the Specialist Services at EPUT. Based in Chelmsford, the unit provides 24-hour treatment and care in a safe and therapeutic setting, actively engaging and involving people who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Patients receive individualised care and treatment based on the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
This is an existing role that has been developed due to an increasing need to close the gap between mental and physical health. In addition to the usual TI duties, the successful candidate will have a special interest in promoting healthy lifestyle options, which will include developing exercise programmes in our on-site gym. For candidates with no formal exercise qualifications, there will be an opportunity to develop skills by enrolling on a REPS or similar training course. The successful candidate would also provide support to the Rainbow Mother and Baby 6-bedded Unit in terms of facilitating access to the gym for the mothers.

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
