The Role / Position overview
The role of the Creative Artworker, FT Specialist Design, sits within FT Creative, the FT's in-house creative team, reporting to the Head of Design for FT Specialist. FT Creative team works across the FT portfolio producing digital and print creative whilst developing and protecting the FT brand and wide range of sub brands within the portfolio.
FT Creative is part of the Communications and Marketing (CMG) function that works across the organisation to ensure the FT is positioned as an industry leader in quality digital subscriptions. The CMG team is the driving force behind the brand's reputation ensuring that FT is recognised as the brand that brings modern, responsible capitalism to life in line with our brand platform, The New Agenda.
FT Specialist products and services provide niche global audience groups with information that helps them make better decisions and operate more effectively - brands in this portfolio include the Investors' Chronicle, The Banker portfolio and FT Adviser. The Creative Artworker will be a key member of the FT Specialist design team working on a wide range of brands and briefs from across the business and play a crucial role in ensuring all marketing collateral has strong brand consistency.
You will support all Designers working with a wide range of print, digital and motion design briefs for the FT Specialist brands. As the Creative Artworker, you will repurpose artwork ensuring it adheres to original concepts and brand guidelines. You will also resize ads, work with templates to update weekly/monthly briefs, re-work artwork across digital platforms to create display banners and other digital marketing collateral. You will support the design output of various events.
As the Creative Artworker you need to be able to work swiftly, paying attention to detail and typography, and taking great care to ensure all elements are on-brand. You will also be required to liaise directly with marketing and event teams, be confident in asking questions and have good communication skills. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability of managing multiple projects, that at times have a quick turnaround.
You will be working under the supervision of the Head of Design, FT Specialist and senior designers.
Key Responsibilities and outputs
Repurpose visual assets for digital channels including display ads, email, events, onsite, video and social media.
Deliver print ready assets for event's collateral.
Update templates and graphics for our online event platforms.
Confidently update digital, motion and print templates, following brand guidelines.
Upload new assets and maintain our Brand Portal (Powered by Frontify), ensuring that guidelines and templates are accurately presented.
Required Skills
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects
Knowledge of Google Suite
- Adobe Animate
Knowledge of mail merging process between Adobe software and Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
Strong eye for detail and precision
Competent fast worker
Strong typography skills
Be comfortable using own initiative on artworking projects
Good communication skills
Enthusiastic team player and a self-starter
Strong organisational skills and experience with dealing with people on all levels
Diplomatic, convincing, confident, can-do attitude
Must have a recognised design qualification e.g. BA, BFA etc.
