Medical Records Officer The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham Full time, 37.5 hours per week Permanent Salary: up to £26,000 per annum dependent on experience + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development) We’re looking for a Medical Records Officer to join our administration team at The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery including robotics with the latest Da Vinci XI. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. As a Medical Records Officer, you’ll process enquiries regarding medical records from patients and their legal representatives, as well as medical and Hospital employees, file incoming reports/correspondence into patient records and prepare files for storage, archiving and microfilming. You will liaise with storage companies for safe disposal of records and provide records or information on request. As part of your administrative duties you will also manage filing, photocopying, letter writing, dealing with telephone enquiries and sundries as required. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of filing systems, inputting of data as and identifying and appropriately rectifying duplicate patient medical records. What you’ll bring: Previous experience within a medical records department would be highly regarded. Previous experience in collating and interpreting data. Computer literate.
