Job Description
TEC Partners have an exciting opportunity in a Cambridge-based diagnostics company that is working to change point-of-care diagnostics. Their technology tackles the challenges in diagnostics of various infectious diseases, making PCR testing faster, more accurate, and accessible to any clinician or healthcare professional as a small bench-top instrument.
The gold-standard PCR method for gene amplification, integrated into the company’s proprietary platform, has been shown to work at equal levels of selectivity and sensitivity as the conventional PCR performed in the laboratory setting. Moreover, the technology focuses on cutting the cost and time required for a test, being able to provide results in no more than 5 minutes.
They are currently looking for a Senior Integration Scientist to join the multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and biologists. The role is a multi-faceted position, combining all aspects of the company’s system, from assay design and data analysis to hardware components.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assessing the performance of the systems, including testing modifications and upgrades
- Assessing system suitability for integration into the final product
- Proposing and developing improvements for the platform and the launch product
Who you are:
- Background in molecular biology, bioengineering, biophysics, or a closely related area
- Strong experience in RT-PCR development and its applications
- Experience in experimental design and analysis
- Experience working with prototype instruments
- Background combining engineering with molecular biology, ideally in the diagnostic/point-of-care device development context – highly desirable
- Project leading experience
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Data analysis using Python – desirable
Company overview and benefits:
The company’s working culture supports innovative ideas and collaboration, at the same time allowing the employees to be independent in their work and providing the flexibility to manage their week to maintain a good work-life balance. Some benefits include:
- Higher than average employer pension contribution
- Private medical insurance
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
- Activities and sports facilities available on site
- Relocation package available (if applicable)
This is a great opportunity for a skilled scientist/engineer from a similar field to join a talented team working on a goal to make molecular diagnostics more accessible. If you are up for a challenge and want to make a real difference using your skills and expertise, please apply with your updated CV or reach out to Austeja at TEC Partners for more information.
