THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
DMS are currently recruiting for an exceptional Senior Motion Graphics Designer to work within our talented team, creating assets for broadcast, online and other digital platforms. The position will involve designing and producing high end motion graphics for our portfolio of film clients as well as the foreign language re-versioning of content for international distribution.
With a strong background in design you will use your skills to deliver motion graphics efficiently to brief and work collaboratively within the team to ensure we are providing the best possible execution.
THE ROLE
The role requires the Senior Motion Graphics Designer to be extremely client focused, self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You must have a strong commitment to finishing projects to tight deadlines whilst providing exceptional attention to detail on content delivered at volume.
- Day to day management of the Domestic and International Re-versioning Motion Graphics Team.
- Working closely with the Domestic and International Re-versioning Technical Operations Manager to identify priority jobs and organising workload.
- Ensuring workflow is consistent and efficient in order to deliver at high volume with accuracy and speed.
- Scheduling of the workload, making sure tasks are distributed efficiently to team members.
- Managing the checking of incoming original versions projects to ensure we have all the correct assets and plugins to begin Re-versioning production. Report any issues or missing elements to Client Service.
- Purchase plugins and fonts overnight where required.
- Setting up re-versioning templates to enable efficient further production.
- Acting as the Motion Graphics central point of contact for Client Services to assist in scheduling and managing urgent orders. Providing general progress and capacity updates.
- Ensuring efficient handovers by keeping track of jobs worked on by fellow team members and passing on any relevant job information between shifts.
- Communicating with other technical departments such as Tech, and QC on graphics related matters. Ensuring the teams are aware of all relevant job information.
- Producing 2D and 3D motion design to a high level of finish.
Line Management Duties
- Providing training to junior members of the team.
- Championing better cross-department communication practice.
- Support the Technical Operations Manager with continual review of workflows, highlighting where potential improvements can be made to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensuring that the Motion Graphics team are adhering to procedures.
- Investigate and remediate any Motion Graphics issues reported by the Client Service or the client.
- Support the Technical Operations Manager with Motion Graphics recruitment interviews when required.
- Regular meetings with the team to discuss things like production efficiencies, procedures, upcoming workload, training, new business information.
- Motivating the team – celebrating success, feedback from the client, good work produced.
The position covers our late shift for the US market which will be Monday-Friday normal office hours of 09:30 to 6pm and occasional late shifts of 6pm-2:30am.
THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WILL YOU NEED
- Exceptional skills in Design, Motion Graphics and Compositing.
- Excellent typographical and layout skills with an eye for composition, colour and fonts.
- High level of experience in After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop & Illustrator are essential.
- Team management experience.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Calm when under pressure from quick turnaround deadline.
