What the job involves
● Assist with day-to-day HR operations, functions, and duties.
● Deal with employee queries regarding HR issues, rules, and regulations.
● Various administration activities, such as organisation chart maintenance, assisting with staff onboarding and offboarding, compiling and updating employee records, including holiday and sickness leaves, employee letter preparation and others.
● Assist with the recruitment process, including posting of job adverts, screening candidates, co-ordinating communication, scheduling interviews, collecting references, conducting right to work checks, and preparing offer letters.
● Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (e.g. staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations).
● Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves) and accurately entering data onto HR software.
● Coordinate HR projects (e.g. meetings, training, surveys), take meeting minutes, assist with performance management procedures.
● Assist with company event organisation, monthly bulletin, employee suggestion scheme etc.
● Complete termination paperwork and assist with exit interviews.
● Stay up to date with the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency.
● Assist with ad-hoc HR tasks and activities.
Desired skills and experience
● Three or more years’ experience as an HR Assistant or similar role (essential).
● Bachelor's degree in human resources or related (would be a plus).
● Energy, drive, and motivation to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company (experience within a similar environment will be an advantage).
● Excellent organisational skills, including task prioritisation and time management, effective HR administration skills.
● Mature and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
● Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, related business and communication tools and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
● Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices and the ability to apply this to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common-sense approach.
● Exposure to labour law and employment and payroll practices.
● Willingness to take job ownership, to facilitate and see projects to completion with little direction and with flawless execution.
● Ability to accurately follow instructions and maintain diplomacy and discretion at all times.
● Flexible - with a willingness to undertake a variety of duties as required.
● Proactive - ability to prioritise work and situations when under pressure, with the ability to thrive in an autonomous role and multi-task effectively, while dealing with heavy workloads.

Role details
● Employment Type: Full-time
● Work days: Monday to Friday (40 hrs)
● Schedule: 8-hour work day, 8.30 am – 5 pm
● Salary: £22,000-£25,000 per year (depending on experience)
● Work Location: Office-based (Rotherham, S63 9BL, UK)
