Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on relevant experience

About the Role
As a CNC Operator, you will work within the manufacturing team to support project delivery commitments on manufacturing and UAV build tasks, to produce components to an aircraft grade. Reporting to the Prototype Build and Machine Shop Team Leader, the CNC operator will program, setup and operate the CNC mills to manufacture detailed components. In this role you will support other staff in CNC mill operations and liaise across the manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure quality and effective and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Program, set-up and operate the CNC mills.
- Complete weekly maintenance of machinery and repairs as required.
- Assist other staff in CNC mill operations.
- Communicate across the manufacturing and engineering teams on production timescales, methods and materials.
- Produce components to an aircraft grade.
- Writing up process notes and completing documentation.
- Heling maintain safe and tidy workshops.
- Train other staff members to improve capability.
- Work with tooling suppliers to create a standard library of tools.
- Create written work instructions for the machining processes.
- Select suitable tooling and machining strategies.

- Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner
- Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
- When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.
About You
Essential
- An experienced programmer who is organised, self-motivated and able to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
- Demonstrable experience in operating CNC routers and Milling Machines.
- Extensive experience in CAM programming to create both 2D and 3D toolpaths.
- Experience in the selection of tooling, feeds & speeds for cutting Tooling Board & Composite materials.
- Experience with working to fine tolerances and using measuring equipment to comply with ISO 9001.
- Experience in creating work instructions.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Desirable
- Experience working with aircraft components
- Apprentice trained Machinist
Personal
- Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
- Able to work as both part of a team and autonomously.
- Excellent time management skills
- Good communication skills.
- Keen eye for details.
- Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
