Purpose of the role
The Account Manager – EMEA will work with the Sales Team and Business Unit (BU) management to grow the business and will work alongside a multidisciplinary and geographically disperse team to exceed sales goals. The successful candidate will have the entrepreneurial spirit necessary to recognize customer needs and the ability to collaborate as needed to meet customer requirements and drive opportunities to revenue.
Own assigned accounts; create customer-specific account plans; align account plans to product and market strategies; execute account plans to increase IQE share at existing accounts and to gain market share by penetrating new accounts; consistently achieve/exceed revenue and contribution targets- Forge deep relationships with customers; understand customers’ needs and how IQE solutions can deliver value; build a culture whereby IQE wins business not just by technology, pricing, or delivery, but by responsiveness, attention to detail, and customer care
- Monitor customer/market/competitor activity and provide feedback to the commercial teams and other company functions; bring this insight to contribute market-driven directions for new products and/or functionality
- Lead pricing and negotiating strategies for owned customers that favorably position IQE products with our customers while simultaneously maximizing profit returned to IQE.
- Work cross-functionally to develop complex proposals, analyze margins and recommend changes in sales strategies where appropriate.
- Work closely with Operations and Customer Excellence teams at our sites around the world to ensure the highest levels of service to our customers.
- Develop/refine internal sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes, including close interface with the Customer Excellence team to build infrastructure and refine systems (e.g., CRM) supporting these processes
- Compile annual sales forecast; monitor and regularly report performance vs. budget and other key sales metrics such as order book, opportunity and order pipeline, quote volume, closure rate, etc.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences/trade shows, or to IQE facilities as required by assignment, account/corporate objectives, or customer request
Qualifications / Essential Skills
- 3+ years in a customer-facing role in semiconductors, microelectronics, or RF / wireless industries
- Must have or develop through training a working knowledge of IQE technology as required to understand/interpret customer questions and to explain IQE product attributes
- Previous experience in the compound semiconductor industry is a strong plus
- Experience using CRM software is essential
- Bachelor’s degree
