Job Description

Are you ready for a new challenge and are an aspiring band 6 Occupational therapist, or a current one wanting to move into the community setting?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Occupational Therapists to work as a member of the Carlisle and District Community Rehabilitation Team. This covers both Carlisle, Brampton and the surrounding areas.

Experienced band 6 occupational therapists; or experienced band 5 occupational therapists ready for the challenge are welcome to apply!

The role involves providing assessment and treatment to a varied caseload of patients in the community and community hospital setting. The team works with patients who have rehabilitation needs, as well as those who needs support at the end of their life. This may be in the patient’s own home or in the community hospital. This work will involve rapid response for the prevention of admission to hospital as well as supporting Brampton community hospital discharges. Therapists within the Carlisle & District ICC also support Homefirst, which covers A&E and the emergency admissions unit at the Cumberland Infirmary. This role involves providing a rapid response in assessing patients and providing appropriate interventions to prevent admission and support hospital discharges. Carlisle & District ICC is a seven day service with core working hours 08:00 – 20:00. Full time staff are required to work 7.5 hour shifts 5 days a week, also covering some bank holidays and weekends on a rota rolling rota basis.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as followsif applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
