Job Description
This is a Trust wide role and will involve working in conjunction with the Chief Nurse, Chief Clinical Information Officer and Chief Information Officer to provide clinical leadership in the delivery of the Trusts digital health and care strategy, oversee the implementation of existing and new clinical digital systems and support the digital optimisation of care pathways and interventions across the Trust.
The CNIO will be required to provide leadership, co-ordination, facilitation, evaluation and improvement across a range of digital transformation workstreams within the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP Portfolio.
They will be a transformational leader with exemplary clinical credibility and will be required to provide expert clinical advice and engage with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement in support of the Trust’s digital development.
The CNIO will work with colleagues in the BOB Integrated Care System to ensure there is a system wide approach to digital transformation and will be a regular contributor to the Southeast and National CNIO and Digital Leaders networks. They will be responsible for ensuring the clinical safety of systems and processes in the design, implementation and use of technology solutions to deliver improvements in the quality of services and patient safety. The CNIO will demonstrate understanding and passion about using digital technology to support clinicians to transform patient care and patient experience.
Some of your duties:
- Proactively manage key clinical risks relating to digital health technology and ensure appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond to the risk.
- Provide a strong Nursing and Allied Health Professional voice and vision using advanced communication methods to ensure the best and safest possible digital healthcare systems are delivered.
- Ensure that the Trust works collaboratively with patients and carers in developing and using digital technology, and ensure that patient experience is at the heart of improvement and development.
- With clinical expertise contribute towards the Trust’s safe management of data and compliance with GDPR.
- Understand emerging trends and promote innovation in Nursing and AHP practice within the Trust through the use of new technology e.g. remote monitoring and artificial intelligence.
- Oversee the delivery of relevant digital research focused projects and support the development of publications suitable for local, regional and national sharing events.
- Design, initiate and participate in the use of audit related to digital systems for the delivery of care and complete the improvement cycle.
- Oversee the clinical mobilisation of electronic patient records systems (EPRs) and ensure the full functionality of clinical systems is utilised in order to fully realise benefits and deliver more efficient, safer and high-quality services.
- Represent the Trust on behalf of the Chief Nurse, at local, regional and national digital events.
