Purpose of the role:
The HR Operations Manager is a hands-on role, responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, seamless employee experience by managing and administering several critical HR processes, including but not limited to on/off-boarding, employee records, payroll, HR systems, data & reporting and immigration. This is a vital role within the organisation and would suit an adaptable individual with a flexible approach. A person who has good multitasking and time management skills. You will have worked in a varied HR support position before.
This role is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave and will be for a duration of 12 months, possibly a little longer. It is a hybrid role and we are interested in candidates who are able to commute 1/2 days a week to either our London or Cambridge office.
- Lead and facilitate the development, enhancement, and execution of all pre/on/off-boarding processes to create an outstanding employee experience.
- Provide first tier employment law/people queries that come into the UK HR team and provide guidance to both managers and employees leveraging your knowledge of our HR processes, policies, employee relations, benefits, systems and other day-to-day HR items.
- Administer, manage and facilitate all employee background and right to work checks, immigration and regional mobility programs, including skilled worker visas, audits, vendor support, process improvement and the employee experience.
- Effectively manage the UK and Germany payroll, through our outsourced payroll providers, acting as a point of escalation for payroll related enquiries and lead delivery of all month end reporting requirements.
- Subject matter expert for UK benefit programmes and employment taxes, owning employee communications and effective implementation of all new benefit initiatives.
- Administer and record all HR templates across our HR systems and employment documentation e.g. reference letters, promotion letters, employment verification letters, etc.
- Manage 3rd party consulting and advising relationships, owning IR35 assessments and compliance.
- Be regional expert and point of contact for our HRIS (ADP), optimizing reporting and managing processes, workflow and improvements in the tool.
- Embed high standards and strong processes to create productivity, workflow efficiencies and automation wherever possible.
- Assist with ongoing development and improvement of HR programs, process, and procedures, participating and leading in global and regional HR projects.
- Work closely with key stakeholders in Finance, IT, legal and the global HR team for seamless relationships.
- Implement controls and ensure the team acts in compliance with Risk & Control principles and sensitive data is handled in line with the privacy, compliance and GDPR principles in mind;
- Previous experience of or a strong bias to working within HR / people operations role.
- Systems advocate with solid HRIS expertise and awareness of emerging HR technology.
- Good working knowledge of UK payroll processes.
- A strong understanding of HR working practices and UK employment law.
- Experience of managing immigration and skilled worker visa applications & programs.
- Passionate about data, records, accuracy, and its use in business decisions, organised with a passion for processes and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- IT literate - can use Word, Excel and PowerPoint to an Intermediate to Advanced level.
- Driven & enthusiastic with a can-do attitude to provide excellent solutions for our employees.

- Understanding of Germany employment law and/or payroll
- Knowledge of ADP HRIS.
