Dick White Referrals (DWR) was founded in 2002 by Professor Dick White, since then DWR has grown rapidly to become the largest private veterinary referral hospital in the UK, currently with over 300+ people referral-only hospital with state-of-the-art facilities and enthusiastic 40+ RCVS/European/American Specialists Colleagues in anaesthesia/analgesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care (ECC), internal medicine, neurology/neurosurgery, oncology, orthopaedic/soft tissue surgery, physiotherapy, veterinary pathology.
DWR is a busy, purpose-built specialist referral-only small animal veterinary hospital conveniently located in Cambridgeshire between Newmarket, the home of horse racing and Cambridge, with its world-renowned University and amenities.
DWR has state-of-the-art facilities, fully equipped with the surgical, diagnostic and hospitalisation facilities commensurate with a flagship specialist veterinary hospital and also has an on-site reference laboratory with both in-house clinical pathology and diagnostic histopathology. As part of our ongoing drive for excellence, we have a brand-new building underway, onsite that will create a truly world-class hospital.
DWR is an Educational Partner with the University of Nottingham, we also have the Dick White Nurse Academy onsite and run regular CPD events.
Your role and responsibilities
DWR is a busy and expanding state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary, small animal referral-only practice based near to Cambridge / Newmarket, UK. With a large, varied and exciting Internal Medicine caseload, we are now seeking an RCVS, European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) or American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) board-certified Specialist to join our expanding and enthusiastic team in the spring of 2022.
Our internal medicine team currently comprises of five RCVS/ECVIM/ACVIM internal medicine specialists work, five ECVIM residents and six dedicated medicine nurses, who work closely with ECVIM cardiology and oncology specialists as. The successful applicant will join a team of Specialist Veterinary Clinicians, Residents and Interns who provide our services in internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, neurology, anaesthesia, dermatology, emergency and critical care, physiotherapy and clinical pathology.
In addition to providing a first-class clinical referral service, the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in our ECVIM-approved residency training programme and also teach final year students on rotation from the University of Nottingham. We also support and offer good opportunities for active research with collaborative colleagues working with us in existing research programmes in the UK and around the world.
