Finance Analyst- contingent role

3 months but potential to extend

Salary Circa £25-£30k

Location: Glasgow City

Role Overview:

As a Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing financial models, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management. Your work will directly impact the company's financial planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation, enabling data-driven decisions that drive growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Interpret financial results, variance analysis, and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Monitor budget adherence and provide analysis of budget vs. actual performance.
  • Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios, investment opportunities, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Reporting and Dashboards: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, management dashboards, and presentations for senior management, providing clear and concise explanations of financial performance and trends.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse cost structures and cost drivers to identify areas of cost optimisation and efficiency improvement.
  • Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessment activities, evaluating financial risks and proposing risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or someone qualified via experience- this could suit a graduate perhaps or someone qualified via experience
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify opportunities and challenges.
