Service Delivery Engineer

Reporting to: Regional Service Delivery Manager

Full time (Monday to Saturday, 37.5 hours a week, between 8am-8pm shift pattern)

Up to £34k (DOE)

Location: Sedgefield

Job Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Regional Service Delivery Manager, The Service Delivery engineer will be installing and servicing overhead and underground using Openreach PIA and Netomnia specific network. The Service Delivery Engineer has a key role in installing right first time whilst maintaining an outstanding customer service for our customers, updating relevant systems in a timely manner throughout the day.

The Service Delivery Engineer will also be supporting in maintaining the network which include, (but not exclusive) Installing CBTs, Splicing into FNCs, Minor Civils on customer boundary and act as a support network to resolve customer/network outages same day to continue the outstanding service we provide our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily work on customer installations, but occasionally assist FND with overhead cabling and CBT installation.
  • Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
  • Completing Service works within an agreed SLA (24hrs)
  • Complete assigned installations on time and manage day-to-day jobs.
  • Follow installation procedures, splice fibre, and test at multiple points throughout the installation.
  • Installation of fibre access Cable and CBTs to As-built spec – adhering to Openreach agreements.
  • Fault finding back to the exchange using test equipment provided (OTDR).
  • Completing Minor civil works required on customer boundary including blockage clearances and extending Network Built Network.
  • Splicing within FND where required.
Complete In-progress and retrospective quality audits on partner installations to ensure we are providing the best install quality to our customers.
  • Maintaining H&S compliance.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.

Key Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
  • Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment. (preferred).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and concise communication abilities.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams within the company, with an excellent customer service attitude.
  • A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.

Requirements.

  • Must hold a full UK driving Licence for minimum 12 months.
  • SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent
  • IPAF 1b
  • NRSWA unit 2 (minimum)
  • Splicing and testing
  • SMART AWARDS preferable
  • Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
Hours:
  • 37.5hrs Per week - Monday to Saturday 8am -8pm (5 Day Rota pattern)
