We’re looking for a talented and passionate Social Media Manager to lead our small but growing social media team and develop our social media strategy.
This is an exciting time for Middlesex University, we recently launched a new strategy, we have refreshed our brand, and we’ll be launching a new website soon. To help us bring this activity to life, we’re looking for a skilled line manager and excellent communicator who has a passion for digital engagement and can help us build a strategic approach to our social media activity.

What will I be doing? As our new Social Media Manager, you’ll have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to be clear-headed under pressure. You’ll be line managing our Social Media Editor whilst working closely with our Head of Digital Marketing to help build a strategic approach to social media and develop our global reputation. Working closely with our brand and creative team, you will oversee the day-to-day management of our social media channels and ensure our approach is aligned to our audiences and the University’s strategy. Experience of social media platform management, crisis management, digital content creation are essential to succeed in this role. You will be the University’s go-to person for best-practice use of social media, advising on tactics and channels to engage our prospective and current students, so a strong understanding of Gen-Z and Gen-alpha and their use of social media would also be beneficial. This role is the perfect opportunity to bring together your passion for social media with strategic thinking, as you build relationships and alliances with students and staff from across the University to embed a creative culture underpinned by data insight and help take our social media activity to the next level.
