Content and social media specialist
You will be responsible for the production and rollout of the social media strategy, including content creation, post scheduling and customer engagement across all our social media channels - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and any other additions.

This role will be remote based. Preference for applicants who are Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent freelance creators. Previous work in social media would be useful.
The main roles include:
- Researching and finding current relevant trends for Deaf and disabled people
- Monitoring audience engagement with posts across platforms
- Ensuring that all posts are accessible (especially with alt text and captions).
- Planning, creating, and scheduling content across all social media platforms
Personal specification:
- Must be (or will register as) self-employed; this is because you will be paid through the UK government scheme Access to Work.
- Strong understanding of the social model of disability and Deaf culture
- Strong understanding of how to use gender-neutral (as well as trans-inclusive) language
- Knowledge of how to include and write alt text and image/video descriptions
- Knowledge on how to add and write captions on video posts where required
- Ability to look at relevant trends for branding, such as disability and Deaf-focused awareness events and months, and how to schedule in advance in an accessible way.
- Understanding how to use different software such as Canva, Hootsuite and Publer.io
- Understand how to appropriately interact with anyone contacting through social media
Skills
- Experience managing social media accounts
- Lived experience or passion for Deaf and disability social, cultural, and political issues
- Experience in creating or editing social media content, including infographics and videos
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to take initiative
