Due to continued growth, MTrec’s manufacturing and engineering client, based in Durham, is looking to recruit a new Maintenance Engineer to their team. You will be mechanically biased, with electrical skills as an advantage. It will be your responsibility to attend to machine break downs and PPMs to ensure downtime is kept at a minimal. The Job You’ll Do;
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Confer with engineers/contractors and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve machine malfunctions and provide technical information.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation.
- Provide feedback to managers with a degree of accuracy.
- Able to recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Establish and co-ordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule and supply of materials required for maintaining machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
- Collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve machine related problems.
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on all Plant, equipment and buildings across multiple sites.
- Must have a can do, will do attitude.
About You;
- Mechanically biased with electrical knowledge as an advantage.
- Previous experience, operating conventional lathes and milling equipment.
- Previous experience of working in a lean manufacturing background.
- Previous experience of working in a fast pace manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work at height.
- Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and unsupervised.
- Ability to manage projects to tight deadlines and to co-ordinate personnel.
- Quality and Health & Safety awareness.
- Experience on hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
- ONC/HNC educated in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
