A fantastic opportunity to join a thriving community surgery, looking to welcome a medical Healthcare Assistant to the team, for 9 months of maternity cover.
We are seeking someone to work 21 hours a week on Mondays 1pm-6.30pm, Tuesdays 8am-1pm, Wednesdays 1pm-6.30pm and Thursdays 1pm-6pm.

Experience:
Essential: Must have at least 2 years experience of being a medical Healthcare Assistant working in Primary Care or Secondary Care.
Desirable: Experience of working in a GP practice
Main Duties and Responsibilities (according to training and qualifications):
- Phlebotomy
- Blood Pressure Checks
- ECG recording
- B12 injections
- Flu injections
- Dressings
- Removal of Sutures
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses ensuring that all samples for pathology are accurately labelled and ready for collection.
- Ordering, re-stocking, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Ensure infection control guidelines are maintained
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Assisting nurses with any regular and ad hoc clinics as required including flu clinics
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and recording of data on needs related to health and well-being and ensure that these are documented correctly.
- To ensure that all consultations are recorded timely and accurately on the Practice clinical system according to Practice protocols
- To perform other clinical tasks as trained
- From time to time perform other tasks, within the skills of the post holder, as may be required by the Practice.
